That's a shot of me at 19 weeks. It's not great but....
Here's Sprout's update:
So Sprout's a cantaloupe this week. Seems huge- and weird considering next week the fruit is a banana- to me a cantaloupe is WAAAAY bigger than a banana, but I digress. Apparently for the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and
hard to measure, measurements are taken from the
top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks,
he's measured from head to toe. (Which may be why he turns into a banana next week? Who knows.)
Sprout is swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his (hers?) digestive
system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion.
This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his
first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during
delivery which may indicate distress- so hopefully we don't see it til diaper time!)
Why can't I see a bigger picture when I click the small one?
ReplyDeleteI don't know. It's probably the way I upload them? Any suggestions as to how to fix it? I'm a little slow when it comes to that kind of thing
